Andrew Muir, Chairman of The Good Guys, today announced that after more than 60 years in Hood Street, The Good Guys Support Centre is relocating to a new premises in Essendon Fields.

Mr Muir said that the relocation of The Good Guys Support Centre marks a seminal moment in the history of the business.

“This is a very exciting time for our business and marks new chapter in the evolution of The Good Guys. Following rapid expansion over the past five years, this move will enable all our business operations to come together under the one roof which is incredibly important in this age of multi-channel retailing where the market is constantly evolving,” he said.

“The new office, which remains in close proximity to both Melbourne Airport and the Melbourne CBD, is state of the art and has been carefully planned to facilitate a cross-functional work environment while providing our staff members with significantly improved facilities. At the same time, the move gives us the space for further expansion over the coming years as we continue to grow and allows us to continue to effectively service our national store network and local and interstate business partners,” Mr Muir said.

In March Planning Minister Matthew Guy announced a $2 billion development to expand and grow Essendon Fields into an exciting new aviation and employment precinct.

“The Essendon Fields precinct has been earmarked for future growth and development in the coming years. It is becoming an important business hub and its close proximity to Tullamarine Airport and Melbourne’s CBD will enable us to continue to effectively service our national store network and our many local and interstate business partners and vendors,” Mr Muir commented.

The Good Guys Support Centre currently employs close to 400 staff and is one of several head offices of nationally significant companies in the Moonee Valley area.

The relocation is planned for later this month.
