Geelong locals can get out of the loungeroom and into the kitchen with new virtual cooking classes.

Geelong locals can get out of the loungeroom and into the kitchen with new virtual cooking classes.

The Good Foundation will offer Jamie’s Ministry of Food online from the comfort of people’s homes.

More than 10,000 Geelong residents have already taken advantage of the classes.

Good Foundation chief executive Siobhan Boyle said the online shift meant classes would not longer be offered at the previous East Geelong Gordon TAFE campus.

“Our online classes follow the same format as our face-to-face classes but allow participants to get involved from the comfort of their own homes,” she said.

“We will also be creating virtual hubs so we can maintain our close connection to local communities.”

Participants will learn key recipes to over every meal across five sessions taught by professional food trainers over a live video chat.

A Learn Your Fruit and Veg Program will also be available for children aged three to 12.
